VOLUNTEERS - Ideas for Orphan Ministries from Tapestry's Michael Moore

From Tapestry Orphan Ministry:

1.Create safe, small group environments for people to connect and find encouragement.
2.Often the most effective ministry is simply identifying the needs of those in your church and your community and then responding.
3.Importance of Family-to-Family – no substitute for families considering or exploring adoption or foster care than to spend time with those who have been on these paths.
4.Consider starting a playgroup for moms and kids or a small group for waiting families.
5.Consider organizing a night out for moms and moms-to-be at a local coffee shop
6.Always Make Time to Celebrate – baby showers, adoptions.
7.Remember the guys – they connect in a completely different way than women; playgroups and coffee shop chats won’t work, but a monthly burger night works.
